Is a product made from carbohydrates, such as, glucose syrup or invert
sugar or even sucrose. Certain food grade acids , alkalis and salts
are added to for the caramelization process. Glucose syrup, however, is
preferred as the caramel colour produced is more stable and over time,
less viscous.
It is the most widely used "food colour" product in the world giving more colour to food such as, soya/ fish sauces, seasonings, gravies, soups,
vinegar, bread and baked good, cereals, and cold/hot beverages, such as, soft drinks, coffee/tea/cocoa, alcohol and even pet fodds, etc. It is up to our imagination where it can be applied.
